Basic Information Needed
How many desk phones do you need initially? Will one of the phones be a receptionist or gatekeeper type phone?
How many desk phones do you think you need the system to be able to accomodate in the future?
How many simultaneous inbound calls do you want your system to be able to handle?
How many simultaneous outbound calls do you want your system to accomodate?
Do you have an existing network in place with Category 5 cabling installed?
What type of connection do you have (or will you have) to the internet (e.g. DSL, Cable, T1)?
What type of telephone service do you have (or will you have) coming from your local exchange carrier (LEC = phone company)? The two most common types are POTS lines (POTS = plain old telephone service = analog lines) or T1/PRI (digital phone lines).
How many of each type of phone line do you have (or will you have) and what are they used for? For example, you might have 6 POTS lines used for voice calls and 1 used for Fax.
